Dr Nilakshi Weerasinghe is a Consultant Physician and a Geriatrician with more than twelve years of extensive post graduate clinical experience in Australia. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

Dr Weerasinghe completed MBBS degree with honours and distinctions in Sri Lanka and completed physician training and advanced training in Geriatric Medicine in Sydney, Australia. Currently she is pursuing a Master’s Degree at the University of Sydney. Dr Weerasinghe is also a conjoint clinical lecturer at University of New South Wales.

Dr Weerasinghe has worked at Westmead Public, Prince of Wales, Concord, Blacktown, Bankstown, Hornsby and Norwest Hospitals. She has conducted research in the areas of orthogeriatric and acute geriatric medicine.

Dr Weerasinghe has expertise in the management of complex general medical conditions as well as specialised geriatric conditions such as dementia, behavioural issues related to dementia, delirium, osteoporosis, frailty, incontinence and polypharmacy. She also has special interests in the areas of peri-operative and orthogeriatric care and falls prevention in elderly.
